Linda Wolfe of Auburn proudly displays her second place ribbon with her scrapbook of the 2017 Schuylkill County Fair at the 2018 Pennsylvania Association of County Fairs held recently in January.

For the second time in the past two years, Linda Wolfe of Auburn has placed second with her scrapbook of the 2017 Schuylkill County Fair.  Linda was awarded a second place for the scrapbook at the recently held Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs convention held in Hershey.

Linda’s hard work pay off again this year with a thick binder filled with photos and captions focusing on the 2017 Fair theme of “Country Scenes – Blue Ribbon Dreams.  For the past 10 years Linda has been displaying her talent through the fair’s scrapbook retelling the fair week in pictures and decorated captions within the pages of the scrapbook.  This is Linda’s fifth award in the last 6 six years, including first place in 2014 and 2015 and second place in 2013 and 2016.

The scrapbook must follow the theme of the fair; cover all areas of the fair and blend agriculture, commercial and entertainment aspects; include table of contents and list of fair officers; have photo identified; and is also judged on layout, overall appearance and creativity.

For the 2017 scrapbook, Linda used a beautiful setting in the country and a young 4-H exhibitor displaying his livestock animal with his winning ribbons to illustrate the “Country Scenes- Blue Ribbon Dreams” theme.  She also highlights events and performances that happen at the fair.

Linda says it takes her about four months to build the scrapbook which starts right after the Fair ends each year.  Linda’s hard work has paid off with another special award for her talent of telling the 2017 Schuylkill County Fair story.
