What: The media is invited to come home to the Fair Saturday, August 5th. Saturday is Family Fun Day at the 2017 Schuylkill County Fair. The day starts early at 11 AM with registration for the Antique Tractor Pull which starts the day. The Fair officially opens to the public at 11AM with the ID ME program presented by the Schuylkill County Sheriff’s Department. Protect your children by enrolling them in this very valuable program provided free by the Sherriff Department. Protect your child’s sight by stopping by the Lion’s Stand at the indoor midway or main exhibit hall. The Lions is providing free sight screenings daily for your child. The Lions Clubs of District 14-U are proud to bring to our community its KidSight USA Program. The program, which focuses on children age 6 months to 6 years, use a specialized hand-held camera to perform vision screenings.
Rides open at 1PM and are presented by Goodtimes Amusements out of Hellertown, PA.
Walk with the Tractor Parade as it makes its way through the fairgrounds with a theme of Family Fun. Continue the family fun with various interactive exhibits running throughout Saturday. Bring along your small family pet and have it compete in the Pocket Pet Contest. Have the younger family members participate in the Kids Hay Bale Toss. Scramble for pennies and candy. Then you might want to settle down in a chair to see and hear The Mahoney Brothers Present: Juke Box Heroes Live at 7 and Long Live the Beatles at 9PM. The Mahoney Brothers are sponsored by Schuylkill County Visitors Bureau and Pioneer Pole Building. Obtain your Premium Seating for an up close personal encounter with The Mahoney Brothers for only $10.00 for both evening performance. With Premium Seating you don’t have to come to the fair extra early and plant your lawn chair and guard your spot. Arrive for the evening’s stage performance minutes before the performer goes on and relax in a chair provided by the Fair.
Reserved Premium Seating arrangements may be made with Grace Karrer at (570.527.8240). A Premium Seat ticket may be purchased for any person age 2 and up. Checks or Money Orders made payable to FARM/Schuylkill County Fair and mailed to Schuylkill County Fair c/o Grace Karrer 312 N. Second Street, Saint Clair, PA 17970. Orders will be filled with the best available seat and processed according to the date revived. Seats are provided by the Fair. Get your requests in early as there are only 80 reserved seats available for that evening’s performance.
