Sportsmen Bring SAFE Archery Fun to Fair

The Schuylkill County Sportsmen’s Association and Advisory Board will introduce families to archery at the Schuylkill County Fair, July 27-August 1. The sportsmen organizations purchased the S.A.F.E (Students and Families Experiencing Archery) Hoverball activity at the Great American Outdoor Show in February. “The activity is a lot of fun for all ages and we are very fortunate to have the SAFE archery available in Schuylkill County”, said Gary Slutter, Schuylkill County Sportsmen’s Association President.

The patented S.A.F.E. Archery™ Arrow, with an exclusive Safe Nock™ and soft foam tip, offers the same flight characteristics of a standard arrow yet is much safer, allowing opportunities to shoot without traditional archery safety worries! Whether you have been shooting for years or have never picked up a bow, S.A.F.E. Archery™ Arrow offers a new way to experience archery. Additionally, it is a great way to get kids involved with archery as well as providing a fun activity that enhances eye-hand coordination, increases upper body strength, and helps to develop self-discipline. S.A.F.E. Archery™ Arrow is safe and fun for everyone!

The blow-up type target ‘floats’ plastic balls in air which provides a challenging yet fun activity. “We will have the Hoverball set-up all week at the fair adjacent to the Sportsmen’s Building”, commented Craig R. Morgan, Sportsmen’s Advisory Board Chairman. For a small fee anyone may shoot. The fee also includes a chance on Yuengling’s special Mt. Bike.

The sportsmen organizations will utilize funding to continue to provide Youth Field Day, Norm Thornburg Conservation Camp, Women’s Outdoor Day, Family Fun Fishing Event at Sweet Arrow Lake County Park and Schuylkill County presence at the great American Outdoor Show. Information about all these hands-on activities will be available in the Sportsmen’s building fair week.
