The track crew has been working diligently for weeks now preparing the track for Monday and Tuesday night pulls at the Schuylkill County Fair. The big push was on in the last few days to lay down the clay and grade it to perfection. The track has been lengthen and widened to accommodate the Side by Side as well as the big rigs of the Lucas Pro Pulling Series.
The track improvements were brought about to bring back by popular demand, the Schuylkill County Fair nights of pure truck pull excitement! On Monday, July 27th the diesel trucks take center stage and on Tuesday, July 28th the gas powered trucks charge the infield in an attempt to make Fair history as they battle against the best sled in the industry…the Lucas Oil Crouse Sled! Registration of trucks begins at 4 PM each night and pulling will begin approximately at 7 PM.
The track, which has been used for the annual antique tractor pulling event for over 15 years, has been lengthened, widened and resurfaced by the dedicated members of our Agricultural Museum to bring patrons and participants an improved and exceptional pulling experience. This year’s event will feature three classes of trucks on Monday: stock diesel, modified diesel, and work stock diesel. On Tuesday the gas hogs hit the track and compete in the stock gas 1 & 2 and modified gas classes.
New this year on the track will be side-by-side diesel drag racing! Diesels drag racing? A diesel truck is a work vehicle, designed to haul cargo and pull trailers, right? Not anymore! That perception has been changed by gear heads and on Monday, July 27th they’ll compete for an entire year’s worth of bragging rights. The Schuylkill County Fair invites all diesel pickups or SUVs to test their skills and horsepower on the track. There is no restriction on residency. Rev your engines and come race on the improved track! Also new to the track this year will be the dirt churning Limited Pro Stock Semis and 466 Hot Farm Tractors of the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League! These events are sure to be excitement filled crowd pleasers.
The Ag Track committee will be monitoring the weather reports as well as the sky for any chance of precipitation. It’s not going to rain on our pulls! The track will be covered with a protective tarp to make for a great evening of tractor pulls.
The Schuylkill County Fair is pleased to sponsor this thrilling event at the 2015 Fair.
